Hands on training

ITECH is adamant in supplying students with a strong professional experience. On top of a multidisciplinary teaching, the institute adds a 10 month minimum of mandatory internships in companies.

1st year

The courses are the same as for the French Section with fundamental and practical knowledge in:

chemistry (analytical, organic…)

physics (fluid mechanics, thermodynamics …)

polymer science (introduction to their applications…)

But also economic and social sciences (introduction to accounting, businesses, markets …).

However, sponsorship from member companies of the CEPE (European Council of Paints, Printing Inks and Artists) gives students the opportunity to discover the paint industry. These sponsor companies take them on for internships within their facilities over the course of the 3 years. This first internship, which lasts a minimum of 6 weeks, will allow each students to discover a dynamic industry in demand for young talent

2nd year

Students delve more into the properties of polymer sciences in second year (rheology, morphology…), most notably their applications in regards to

paints (formulation principals and physic-chemistry, decorative or industrial…),

cosmetics (galenics, care products…).

As in the previous year, pupils follow more non-scientific courses indispensable for engineers such as project and production management, as well as simulations in setting up businesses.

The 2nd year internship, 8 weeks minimum, is a continuation of the first one. Depending on the company welcoming the student, he or she can continue on in their different sites around Europe.

3rd year

In their final year, students spend 5 months upgrading and perfecting their knowledge in paints, inks, adhesives and cosmetics. Part of this semester is dedicated to an industrial research project.

Their course is completed by a 6 month final year project in their respective sponsor company.
